The Wesleyan Jewish Community invites you to celebrate Chanukah! There will be a variety of ways to celebrate throughout the week. We encourage people of all backgrounds to join us for as many activities as they’d like!
Dates: Monday, December 7th through Sunday, December 13th

12/6: Join us at 7:15pm in the Olin lobby to kick off Chanukah with candle lighting and a cappella (feat. the The Mazel Tones and Slender James). There will be snacks!
12/7: 7:15pm, Candle lighting at the Bayit (157 Church). Dreidel games to follow!
12/8: 7:15 pm, Candle lighting at the Bayit (157 Church). Take part in Gelt and Give! Bring some change to donate to the American Jewish World Service* and receive chocolate gelt!
12/9: 7:15pm, Campus-wide candle lighting (hosted by various residences across campus – detailed list to follow!)
12/10: 7:15pm, Candle lighting at the Bayit (157 Church). There will also be a conversation about miracles led by Social Justice JRF Yael Horowitz.
12/11: Shabbat services and dinner (with candle lighting) starting at 5:15pm in the Bayit (157 Church).
12/12: 7:15pm, Candle lighting at the Bayit (157 Church). After, make your own edible menorah (think graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate)!
12/13: 7:15pm, Candle lighting at the Bayit (157 Church). There will be an optional gift swap to follow! If you’d like to participate, please bring a gift (no more than $5 in value).
* “Inspired by the Jewish commitment to justice, American Jewish World Service (AJWS) works to realize human rights and end poverty in the developing world.” We will be collecting donations for this wonderful charity from 12/8 until the end of Chanukah!
