Farm Forum Interest Meeting

long lane farm forum kids frolickingFrom Hilary Brumberg ’17:

Farm Forum aims to connect the Wesleyan community with the food we eat through education about sustainable agriculture.

Participants will learn growing practices through hands-on work on Long Lane Organic Farm, as well as gain a firm practical and theoretical grounding for further work in or involving agriculture. Topics in this semester’s forum include farm organization, the anatomy of plants, local Connecticut climate and geography, biodynamics, economic and social roles of farms on college campuses, food policy and justice, poultry husbandry, and permaculture. Look forward to getting dirty, fresh air, interesting discussions, wholesome food, and field trips!

If you are interested in taking Farm Forum this semester, or you just want to know more about this student forum, come to info session, where we will discuss the goals and logistics of the forum. Come with questions, snacks will be provided!

If you can’t make it to the info session but would still like to learn more about the forum please email us at hbrumberg[at]wesleyan[dot]edu and bwdaley[at]wesleyan[dot]edu.

The student forum is a full credit, and will meet for 3 hours a week at a time TBD.
