Data Fest Registration Deadline

DataFest is a data analysis competition where students are presented with a large, complex data set and work over the weekend to explore, analyze, and present their findings. Teams of 3-5 students work together and compete against other teams from Connecticut College, Yale, UConn, Trinity and Wesleyan. Prizes for best insight, best visualization, and best use of external data are awarded. Under the auspices of the American Statistical Association, the event is organized by the Quantitative Analysis Center (QAC) and begins on Friday, April 8th 2016 at 6pm. You are free to work with the data around the clock until Sunday, April 10th at noon. We will conclude at roughly 5pm on Sunday. Meals etc. will be available for participating students and advisers/consultants throughout the weekend.

THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 1st.

Awareness Series: Mediterranea

The second film in this spring’s Awareness Series at the Center for Film Studies is MEDITERRANEA. Director Jonas Carpignano ’06 will give comments after the screening discussing the film, which is a shocking look at the life-and-death struggle of refugees.

Admission is free at all Awareness events; we hope to see you there!

COL Open House for FROSH

COLLike many frosh and others on this campus, you’re probably wondering “wtf is col??” Fortunately for you, The College of Letters is hosting an open house for Frosh interested in becoming COL majors. COL faculty and students will be meeting in the COL library upstairs in 41 Wyllys (“Boger Hall” lol) on Monday Feb. 29th at 4:15. Come find out more about the major, ask us questions, eat from a veggie tray.

No fear! The Wes PadThai community is glad to announce its comeback of our Thai Late Night! Come grab some authentic Thai food from your authentic Thai folk this Sunday, February 28th at the Exeley Lobby. We will not be serving Padthai but there will be various other Thai foods for all to enjoy!
