My film is a drama/thriller called Perceived Threat. Here’s a brief synopsis:
Kat is an earnest yet fatalistic college student struggling to keep up with tuition payments. All she wants is to regain a sense of control in her life. Her best friend Mark keeps her sane. He just wants her to be happy, but can tell that she is struggling. Kat meets a charming young man named Sam who promises to improve her circumstances both emotionally and financially, but the film takes a dramatic shift in tone when we realize that Sam is a psychopath with ulterior motives.
I will be casting the roles of KAT (female) and MARK (male). They are both college-aged students. Otherwise, I have no real physical requirements. This film (in particular the main character) is heavily inspired by the drama/horror film The House of the Devil (Ti West, 2009, US).
There will be 3 audition sessions in Judd 116:
Saturday October 8th from 2pm to 5pm
Tuesday October 11th from 5pm to 8pm
Wednesday October 12th from 5pm to 8pm
Sign up for an audition time slot on this google doc. If you cannot make any of the scheduled audition slots, or if the slots have all filled up, just hit me up at gdoss[at]wesleyan[dot]edu or (207) 712-6935, and we can schedule a separate audition time. The audition will be a very low pressure ordeal. There is no need to prepare anything, unless you really really want to. Just bring your beautiful self. If you would like me to send you a copy of the screenplay so that you can check it out/prepare a scene, just let me know!
This film will shoot during two nonconsecutive weekends toward the end of the semester. We probably will not use all of these days, but please make sure that you can commit and PRIORITIZE this project over all of your other commitments, even your finals. Losing an actor at the last minute would be catastrophic for this production: November 18-20 December 9-12 (this is the ‘reading week’)
Date: Saturday, October 8; Tuesday, October 11; Wednesday October 12
