Introduce 4th-grade students to the world of the arts!
Are you or someone you know interested in becoming a docent?
Are you available mornings?

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our docent program this fall. Docents introduce more than 400 Middletown fourth graders to art, music, and architecture through annual art-focused tours of Wesleyan, including the Davison Art Center Gallery, Zilkha Gallery, Mansfield Freeman Gallery, and Javanese Gamelan. Docents will lead tours, assist in creating lesson plans, meet with curators, and stimulate connections and dialogue about the works. Tours run on November 1-2, 6, 8-9 and 14-16 from 9:15am-12:30pm. All docents need to be available at least one morning, attend a training session on Thursday Oct 5 from 11:50-1:10pm and commit to at least one shift. The FDAC has a history of over 40 years of engaging with Middletown’s students and we couldn’t do it without the tremendous support of our volunteer docents.

To volunteer, please contact P. Fialkoff at pfialkoff[dot]wesleyan[at]gmail[dot]com.

Deadline: As soon as possible! Positions are appointed on a rolling basis.
