Armand Hammer Concert + Seminar

From Nick Byers ’19:

The rap duo, Armand Hammer, made up of billy woods and ELUCID, will be coming to campus for a show and seminar this Friday, November 16. They make uncompromising, radical hip-hop music, best described, in their own words, as “an unsparing indictment of everything.” With beats both chaotic and sleek, and lyrics ominous and comic, their music has been rightly characterized as some of the most important experimental rap of the last decade. Their bars often informed by critical race theory and anticolonialist critique, and they have been releasing their music on their own independent New York label for over ten years.

Armand Hammer will host a seminar discussing their music at The Resource Center at 6pm, and perform a show at Malcolm X House starting at 10pm.
