Apply to be on the Committee for Investor Responsibility!

Are you interested in corporate social, environmental, or governance issues? We could use your voice on the Committee for Investor Responsibility (CIR).

This student, faculty, staff, and alumni committee has the power to engage in shareholder advocacy on behalf of the University. This includes activities such as proxy voting, advising the University on community investment, and filing shareholder resolutions.

The CIR’s charter, which outlines the committee’s mission and purview, is available at: http://cir.wsa.wesleyan.edu/page-2/

To apply, submit one-two paragraphs, explaining why you’d like to be on the committee and what relevant skills you have, to cguilmette(at)wesleyan(dot)edu by Tuesday 11/22 at 5 PM. Soon after we receive your application, you will be notified of when interviews for the seat will occur.

Get a Composting Bucket

We will be distributing composting buckets in the lobby of Olin Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights from 9 pm-midnight, as well as outside of Weshop from 11 pm-midnight. This will, very likely, be the last time we will be handing out buckets, so please make sure to stop by during one of these times. As always, feel free to email wesleyancompost(at)gmail(dot)com with any questions.

Composting Meeting!

You know that pasta you didn’t finish the other night at Usdan? It gets trucked away to  an incinerator along with all of the other garbage.

Come this Wednesday night at 10 pm to Earth House (on the corner of high and lawn) to the first Composting Committee Meeting of the fall to help change that! We will be continuing our work toward the implementation of a composting system in Usdan and other dining halls on campus. Also, we will be building upon our successful student-run composting system, allowing over 800 students to compost the food waste from their apartments and houses.

When: Wednesday @ 10 pm
Where: Earth House (corner of high and lawn)
Why? Composting is sexy!
