It has come prematurely, folks. A wild Wescam has been spotted: a glorious Wesculture behemoth [or should we say Tentacruel? And on that note, who are you “Tentacruel 2014, female?!] feeding on crushes and shitting out awkwardness and the occasional night of sweaty nonsense.

At the time of this post, 2237 students are registered [that is one grandfucking majority of our student body], 18k+ crushes have been added, and 5722 matches have been made. I know you all have stories.

Michael Roth ’78 and Anthony Wiener

A few months ago, Wesleying decided to do a post on Doppelgangers at Wesleyan. Doppelgangers are those pairs of folks you get confused due to their incredible likeness. You may have seen a terrifying Doctor Who episode playing with the subject. After the jump are our featured doppelgangers and a full list. I wish I could have pictured all of the submitted pairs but consent is most important. SEE YOU AFTER THE JUMP!

The Missing Piece in the Affordable Care Act

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 5.09.48 PM

Chair of the Government Department Professor James McGuire, folks:

Join us for a talk on the Affordable Care Act by Professor Joseph White, Luxenburg Family Professor of Public Policy at Case Western Reserve University

Four years after its passage, the Affordable Care Act makes no credible promise to meet the goal that most voters most desired — which was not to expand coverage to the previously uninsured, but to reduce the out-of-pocket costs of paying for health insurance. Why did the Democrats pass legislation that was not explicitly designed to reduce health insurance costs? The answers involve interest group politics, regional divisions in the Democratic Party, and the politics of the health care policy community.
