Himalyan Bowl Music Lecture, Demonstration, and Meditation

Pricilla Gale will be leading the event. She asserts that “sound vibration is the primary mover for change, creating healing. [Himalayan] bowls affect the brainwaves, allowing [those listening] to comfortably slip deeply into Theta state; the optimal mental state for maximum potential where then all external blocks are eliminated. Brainwave patterns affect your mental and emotional health and consciousness. At this level, healing on all levels occurs, creating a more balance strengthening the Immune System, creating a sense of well-being, feelings of vitality, happiness, confidence, improved sleep, more energy and clarity of thought.”

Sponsored by the Adelphic Educational Fund and Interfaith Justice League.

If you would like to participate in the meditation session, please bring a yoga mat, towel, or cushion to meditate on.

Last Chance to Sign Up for Zombies vs Humans

Sam Barth ’13 writes in to remind you that you’re running out of time to sign up for Zombies vs Humans. (You should all sign up! It’s lots of fun!)

Hey all! Wesleyan’s game of Zombies vs. Humans starts Monday, and there’s still time to sign up! If you want to join the fight for the survival of the human race, send an email to wesleyanzombies(at)gmail(dot)com.

“Zombie what?” you ask? In this game of campus-wide tag, all players except 2 start out as humans (wearing armbands). The zombies (wearing headbands) track down the humans and try to tag them, turning them into zombies. Humans can stop zombies by stunning them with nerf guns, socks, or marshmallows. The game goes until all the humans have been turned into zombies or all of the zombies starve (zombies starve and are out of the game after 48 hours without a kill). Also, it’s awesome.

Meal & Points Calculator Updated

Last year I wrote a meal and points calculator to help with figuring out how much you should be spending to not run out by the end of the semester (and to not have tons left over at the end of the semester). You enter how many meals/points you have remaining and choose a meal plan, and it tells you how much you’ve been spending every day and how much you should spend every day for the rest of the semester so that you end with nothing.

It’s here: http://samdk.com/points

(It’s been updated for this semester for at least a couple of weeks, so if you’re using it already you can ignore this.) Questions/comments/suggestions can be left here for a couple of days, after which they’re probably best sent to my email (sdefabbiakan@wes).

On behalf of [A]chilles, kadenza, and the rest of the Wesleyan DotA crew, cutelikekitty cordially invites you to attend the fourth annual VKS DotA Tournament happening tomorrow, Friday the 19th. Come to PAC Lab at 9:00 p.m. (don’t be late!) to meet the group, get drafted into teams, and get your gank on. To guarantee you get placed on a team, e-mail ylew@wes. All skill levels are welcome.

To ensure maximum enjoyment for all, please ensure that you can commit from 9pm to 1am. If you absolutely cannot stay for the whole thing, or if you have any questions, please e-mail Yin How at ylew@wes. Should the prospect of going beyond godlike against your fellow schoolmates for eternal fame and glory not be enticing enough, there will also be free snacks and drinks.

Time: 9:00pm-1:00am
Place: PAC Lab, non-QAC side
