Outing Club Meeting

Outhouse Backyard!The first Outing Club meeting since the club fair is tonight at 10 pm in Outhouse (132 High Street — 4 houses past WesWings). We’ll briefly talk about how the club works and plan outings for this weekend!

If you can’t make it to this week’s meeting, no worries! We hold meetings EVERY TUESDAY at 10pm, and newcomers are always welcome. So stop on by, hang out, talk about places you want to go and things you want to do, and meet new people.

Veg Out & FOOD-WATER-LIFE

Come enjoy delicious, local desserts and stimulating conversation at the first Veg Out of the Spring Semester! Veg Out is excited to be partnering with the CFA during the exhibition FOOD-WATER-LIFE/LUCY+JORGE ORTA, which explores the major concerns that define the 21st century: biodiversity, environmental conditions, climate change, and exchange among peoples. Come chat with Lucy Orta, one of the artists, as well as faculty and staff about concerns that face our generation, all while stuffing your face!

Fall Fest @ Out House

Is this beautiful weather making you want to spend every waking moment outside? Out House can help with that!

Come to the Outhouse Backyard (132 High) on Saturday (the 267h!) from 2-5 p.m We’ll have all sorts of fall-y (and generally fun) activities, and there will be all sorts of fall-y foods to eat.

There will be cider (bring a mug!). There will be hot dogs (bring your mouth!). There will be t-shirt painting (bring a t-shirt!). There will be impromptu jam sessions (bring an instrument!). And there will be slug-wrestling (aka attacking your friends in sleeping bags). Moral of the story: it’ll be fun.

Also, we will have at least one tent full of ball pit balls. It’s gonna be sweet.

Yoga, Tea, & Meditation on Long Lane Farm

Sewon Kang ’14 has something to say!

If you’ve never been to Wesleyan’s own student-run organic farm before, this Saturday is the perfect time to check it out! The weather is going to be amazing and the company is going to be even better. Outhouse, Farm House, Well-Being House, and halls from Westco and Hewitt will all be there! Meet at Weshop at 12:40pm to walk over to the farm together. Before we get down and dirty and do some work on the farm, we’re going to have (you guessed it) yoga, meditation, and delicious Long Lane tea. Come for a relaxing and fun time. Remember to bring your travel mug for tea drank!

First Outing Club Meeting

It’s that time of year again! [Half of] the Wesleyan Outdoor Orientation Trips (WOOT!) are over, and now everyone wants an excuse to go play outside. The first Outing Club meeting is tonight at 10 pm in Outhouse (132 High Street — 4 houses past WesWings). Meet the Outhousers, meet your fellow outdoorsy students, get on our listserv, and hear about what we have planned for this weekend. Also: I hear there will be icecream after the meeting. Delicious, delicious icecream.

Whether it’s a canoe paddle ’round Millers Pond, a stroll up to the top of Mt. Higby, a rock climbing adventure or just generally goofing off outdoors, we do it all. And we’re always open to new ideas! If you can’t make it to this week’s meeting, no worries! We’ll be having meetings EVERY TUESDAY at 10pm, and newcomers are always welcome. Outing Club Water Bottles for Sale

Need a new water bottle? The Outing Club will be selling these sweet 32 oz., BPA-free, recycled plastic bottles for $7. Find us in Usdan during lunchtime on Tuesday and Wednesday, come to the Outing Club meeting Tuesday night at 10pm, come on an outing, or just stop by Outhouse (132 High Street) any time. We also have a few T-shirts left (youth-large and large only though).

Special Outin’ Club Meeting Tonight

Same as always, Outing Club meetings will be held for the rest of the semester at 10pm every Tuesday, at Outhouse (132 High Street). Talk about the Great Outdoors of Connecticut, how many of the Metacomet Ridge summits you’ve been to recently and where the best climbing trees on campus are.

Want a little more snow and ice in your life? This week’s meeting (aka today) is special because at 9pm, there’s gonna be a sweet slideshow by Professor Brian Glenn ’91 about his epic climb up Mt. Denali!

From May 22 to June 10, 2009, Prof. Brian J. Glenn ’91 climbed Mt. Denali (20,320ft) in Alaska—wearing a Wesleyan hat no less!

Outing Club Meeting

Ever wonder about what’s on the other side of the Bubble? Spent semester(s) in Connecticut without exploring the surrounding area at all? It’s time to change all that and the Outing Club is here to help! All levels of experience in outdoor activities welcome.

Whether it’s a canoe paddle ’round Millers Pond, a stroll up to the top of Mt. Higby (above), a rock climbing adventure or just generally goofing off outdoors, we do it all. And we’re always open to new ideas! So gather up your friends or come alone to the first meeting of the semester on Tuesday, February 7 at 10 pm. As always, the meeting will be held in the cozy Outhouse living room (132 High Street, just a few houses down from WesWings). If you can’t make it to this one though, no worries! We’ll be having meetings EVERY TUESDAY at 10pm; newcomers always welcome. So stop on by, hang out, talk about places you want to go and things you want to do, drink hot cocoa, play some games, meet new people and bemoan the current status of snow in Connecticut (i.e. seriously lacking).
