TAMPON RUN

Someone sent this absolutely incredible flash game into the Wesleying Tip Box and I think it’s my civic duty to post it here because A) it’s mind-blowingly awesome B) It’s the end of Fall Break and who doesn’t need more internet distractions before school tomorrow amirite? C) I went to the same high school as one of the girls who made this game and my school spirit is at an all time high.

tampon-run

The game, Tampon Run, involves running around throwing tampons at your enemies and conquering your fear of talking about menstruation. I had a great time playing it instead of working on various essays, readings, and my thesis. It brought up certain concerns for me, such as, why does WeShop never stock my favorite tampon brand? And: what would happen if I threw tampons at my enemies in real life? Would we forget our differences and bond over those oh-so-human tendencies that connect us all?

Anyway, my musings aside, the two awesome girls, Andrea Gonzales and Sophie Houser, who made this game met at Girls Who Code this past summer. Tampon Run was their final project and numerous articles have been written about how cool they are, like this one, that one, and this one.
