Warm Ghost, Cold Synths, Photo Proof

Two laptops, two producers, endless layers of hazy-woozy synths, and a dishearteningly small audience. Yes, Brooklyn electronic duo Warm Ghost did bring its icy brand of Chillwave to Eclectic last night (also on the bill: Nelsonvillians and Wes-band Saurus), and maybe the light turnout was fitting: this is lonely pop music, sparsely composed, quietly brooding, and hazy in its distinctions between 1985 and 2011. Adding to the mood: a psychedelic backdrop of swirling images and effects, reminiscent of Suckers’ stage setup back in December.

Check out Warm Ghost’s music here, check out Aural Wes’s take on the duo here, and scroll on for some images from the set, by me and Rachel Pincus ’13.
