Let’s Talk about EON, Baby

Where on Earth has EON been? Where on Earth is EON going?

The Environmental Organizer’ Network (EON), is a network of environmental and climate activists and a platform for furthering sustainability initiatives in our community. EON has been on a little hiatus, but it’s time we bring it back.

This event is an open discussion for anyone interested in environmental activism to have hir thoughts be heard. EON has been a huge part of student initiatives in the past, and it can be a resource for us again. To make that happen, we need to come together to tackle some big questions like…

What form does it take?
What is its scope?
How will it be run?
Who will run it?
How do we make it more inclusive?

Wesleyan Students Protest the Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline in DC

Hey, Obama, we don't want no climate drama!

5:00 AM Sunday morning, more than 20 Wesleyan students boarded a bus to Washington, D.C. to join 12,000 climate activists in protesting the Keystone XL Pipeline. Obama will soon have to make the decision whether or not to sign off on the pipeline, which will bring crude oil from the tar sands of Alberta across the U.S. to the Gulf Coast where it will be refined and then exported to Europe and Latin America. We went to show him that there is political might against the pipeline and he needs to just say no.
