Date: Sunday, May 17
Time: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Place: Crowne Plaza Hotel (100 Berlin Road, Cromwell)
If you can get a ride to Cromwell, celebrate the purchasing of music in physical form at the Record/CD Riot. From Iris Records:
One of the big music stories of 2008 was the resurgence of the vinyl record in the face of declining compact disc sales. All new bands (especially indie-rock) now release all albums on vinyl in addition to compact disc. Target is now selling turntables! The major labels are re-releasing classic rock and soul vinyl. And this Sunday is Connecticut’s only record and compact disc show, the Cromwell Record/CD Riot!!!
30 dealers from four states will convene at the Cromwell Crowne Plaza Hotel to display their wares, talk music, make new friends. There will be over 20,000 vinyl records at this show! Hours are from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm and admission is three dollars. Wesleyan students get one dollar off of regular admission. Hey, looking for that classic Rolling Stones vinyl or the latest Bright Eyes CD? You’ll be shocked at the diversity of this inventory: rock, soul, jazz, hiphop, easy listening, classical. Plus find cool t-shirts and other music collectibles. The Cromwell Record/CD Riot has something for everyone and we’d love for you to check it out.
