Mabuhay

Mabuhay is the annual Asian/Asian-American performance art show, happening during WesFest. This year, in collaboration with the Asian American Student Collective, there will be a visual arts showcase as well! Bring your prefrosh!!

Doors open at 7:45pm for early viewing of the visual arts showcase. Performance starts at 8pm.

Refreshments will be sold and all proceeds will go towards the Wesleyan Refugee Project supporting the Collateral Repair Project (CRP) in Jordan. Cash and Venmo accepted!

Africa Innovation Summit and Ariya

Wesleyan’s African Students Association will host the first Africa
Innovation Summit on November 7, 2014. With co-sponsorship from
Wesleyan’s Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship and other
campus partners, this event will provide a platform for exposure and
conversation about the growth of innovation on the African continent,
and it will celebrate those who are paving a new path for progress in
Africa. In addition, their annual culture show, Ariya, will be taking
place Saturday November 8th, 2014 in the World Music Hall

When: 2:30-8pm Friday 11/7 for the conference, and Saturday 11/8 for the culture show
Where: Daniel Family Commons and World Music Hall

Mabuhay is a Filipino greeting. It carries various meanings, including “may you live”, “cheers”, and “welcome”. Mabuhay is an Asian and Asian American Show that provides an opportunity for different student groups and individuals to showcase the talent at Wesleyan.
Buy tickets on Wednesday before the show, at the box office for $5. Or buy at the door for same price. But hurry, since tickets are selling FAST!

Southeast Asian Cultural Night

You’re invited to a Southeast Asian Cultural Night:

Join us for a night of local delicacies, performances, expression, and celebration of colorful cultures from 5 Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

We will also be selling traditional souvenirs from our respective countries during ticket sales and on the day of the event. So do bring some cash with you!

Lunar New Year Celebration

Come celebrate Lunar New Year! Even though the holiday has already passed, the Wesleyan community still hasn’t had a chance to properly celebrate! The show will feature awesome cultural performances and delicious home-cooked food. Be sure to not miss out on this fun event!

Tickets are being sold at Usdan during lunch and dinner Monday, 2/17, through Friday, 2/21. They’re $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Come one, come all!

Japanese Culture Show at Beckham

Do you like Japanese martial arts? How about some traditional Japanese music or dance performances? Or perhaps J-Pop? Are you up for some delicious Japanese food? Do you enjoy watching those ridiculous (but funny)  Japanese variety shows?

Then you should definitely come to the Japanese Culture Show this Saturday on April 3rd to watch your fellow Wesleyan students give you a night of entertainment immersed in Japanese Culture!
