If you can walk, you can dance! Wesleyan’s Ballroom, Latin and Swing Team (WesBLAST) is offering Waltz, Rumba and Swing classes this semester. Our calendar is here (link). It is not necessary to bring a partner or have prior dance experience. But enthusiasm to learn is a must! For more information, check out our OrgSync page. Join our OrgSync group to be on the mailing list! Search Ballroom, Latin and Swing Team. Dancers do not have to conform to traditional gender roles in dancing. So if you like to lead, feel free to learn the leader’s steps instead of back-leading. See you there!
Dates and times: See the WesBLAST calendar here for information

Gene Wilder lookalike DJ Jonathan Toubin took the stage floor armed with Tec 12s and a bevy of vintage wax, bringing Eclectic goers to their feet for a night of dancing, dancing and more dancing. The festivities of The New York Night Train—described as the “home of the extraordinary 45rpm maximum rock and soul sets and wild parties of DJ Mr. Jonathan Toubin”—included a dance-off with a cash prize of $100, and more than 40 weskids twerked, crumped and got jiggy for the money, ostensibly to roll up to snort some yay to use to add points at the end of the semester after blowing all their points at WesWings.
Click through the break to see Toubin’s tweet about Wesleyan College catching a strain of the clap that no penicillin could ever cure, along with photos of the event and a blurb courtesy of Eric Lopez ’15.

Hopefully you can still grab a ticket for this classy-sounding, meal-included event. From Zaida Garcia ’15:
This Friday is Wesleyan’s annual student celebration of Latin@ culture, EXPRESIONES DE LATIN@S. (interesting fact: Ajùa Campos uses the term Latin@ to express the gender spectrum, as opposed to the traditionally masculine term Latino). Please come support your talented peers for a night of dancing, singing, spoken word, and skits celebrating Latin@ culture. This year’s Expresiones is dinner and a show, and so tickets are limited. Get yours at the box office now!
