Middletown Potluck Superbowl Snacks

67583_10203136279546392_925657353_nFrom Ari Ebstein ’16:

Tonight Middletown Potluck will be delivering fresh nachos and hummus platters (homemade! the both!) to superbowl parties across campus. Nachos come will FR3$H salsa and the hummus platter with homemade pita chips and baby c@rrotz.

The cause? We’re trying to raise money to buy lockers for Middletown’s homeless population. Homeless people carry all their stuff around on them 24/7 because they have no where to keep it, and as a result of this insecurity, their stuff is frequently stolen or thrown away — all that they own.

The event is pay what you can with a suggested donation of $15. Each plate serves five people.

E-mail middletownpotlock[at]gmail[dot]com with your order, or text it to 206-697-7208

Time: 5-9:30 p.m.
Place: Delivered to YOU

The Breadery Comes to Wes

Remember Doc’s Grille last year? If you’ve been involved with a student-run food delivery service, you’ll know that there’s demand—especially after hours. E.W. ’13 wants to deliver you fresh bread, and all you gotta do is text:

Love fresh bread? Miss the smell of it? Never had fresh bread before? Convinced that bread in fact grows within the brand labeled bag?

Well you’re in luck! Beginning today, fresh bread for great prices delivered to wherever you are!

Just like the page on Facebook and get alerts when bread has come out of the oven! Text me if you’re interested and I’ll deliver it straight to you!

We have it on good authority that pricing is at $3-$5 a loaf. The Breadery can be reached via text (720.252.6096) and via Facebook—and it totally has timeline.

Campusfood.com, Sundays and Holly’s Pizza Pick

Oh, yes, related to foods and eatings of foods, there is a site that became available at Wesleyan called Campusfood.com .

You can order food online and they’ll bring it to your dorm. It’s really great on Sunday nights because Mocon is terrible on Sundays and nothing else is available. Just, please, do this as a favor for me, PLEASE TIP YOUR DRIVER. They are nice people. Don’t be a fucking asshole.

By the way, my two picks are Fortune Garden for Chinese and Domino’s for Pizza (of the only four available options).

My favorite place for pizza in Middletown, though, is Illiano’s. They make this buffalo chicken pizza there that is just amazing. Seriously. And they’re also super nice people.

More restaurant reviews and such are coming! Stay tuned!

(For more, check out Rachel Berger ’06‘s archived argus reviews of local restaurants. She agrees, as does most everyone, that you should get the buffalo chicken pizza at Illiano’s.)

Nat Webb ‘06.5 adds: The best chinese place is actually the appropriately-named China King, located next door to Puerto Vallarta (the best Mexican place), below Praline’s Ice Cream and near Destinta. China King has the best fried dumplings I’ve ever had, and when I told one of the many hilariously-weird-but-friendly guys who work there, he said that they had been written up in three newspapers regarding the quality of their dumplings. You might also get some life advice from the kitchen staff.
