kick

This just in from Sydney Lewis ’14 with an awesome opportunity to work with kids:

Kindergarten Kickstart is an innovative five-week, full-day summer pre-K program for children who could use extra preschool experience before beginning kindergarten at Farm Hill or Macdonough elementary schools. The program, a partnership between Wesleyan, Middletown Public Schools, and the North End Action Team, is developed and taughtby Wesleyan students in collaboration with the school principals and Prof. Shusterman in Psychology.

We are looking for energetic, motivated, and mature Wesleyan students to join the Kickstart team for our third summer. The 2014 program will run from June 30-August 1, Monday through Friday. Teachers are required to arrive in Middletown for a week of curricular planning and classroom set-up beginning on June 23. You must be available for the entire six weeks (6/23-8/1) to be considered for the program. Hours might vary slightly, but teachers should plan to work an average of 35-40 hours per week. You are responsible for housing, meals, and self-care during your work with Kickstart.

This is a paid position. Email Sydney at salewis(at)wesleyan(dot)edu to request an application! The deadline for submitting an application is March 7, 2014.
