Reverend Billy at the Memorial Chapel

They brought you the What Would Jesus Buy? documentary screening last on Wednesday. Now, Holy Roman Empress Mary-Jane Rubenstein and Cardinal Maxwell Hellmann ’13 present even more Reverend Billy:

MONDAY (April 23rd) The anti-consumerist activist and performance artists Reverend Billy himself will be brought to campus by our very own Mary-Jane Rubenstein!  There will be a Q&A session with him at 4:15 in Judd116, followed by his revival-style performance in the Memorial Chapel at 7PM. Don’t miss it!!

Double Documentary Wednesday: What Would Jesus Buy?

Want to watch a documentary this Wednesday? Wesleying’s got your back! Want to watch two documentaries at overlapping times this Wednesday? Campus deity/professor Mary-Jane Rubenstein and acolyte Maxwell Hellmann ’13 have got half your back:

WEDNESDAY (April 18th) at 7PM in Judd 116, there will be a screening of What Would Jesus Buy, a documentary by Morgan Spurlock featuring Reverend Billy from the Church of Earthalujah/Church of Stop Shopping.  The film takes a critical look at the commercialization of Christmas and the role of sweatshops in American mass consumer culture.  Cost is free! And this is just the beginning, folks – thanks to MJR, we can expect some ~~~live~~~ appearances from the Reverend this coming Monday, at 4:15 for a Q&A and then 7 for a sermon in Memorial Chapel. Check the facebook link below for more info, or wait a couple days for the next Wesleying post.
