In search of wisdom in unlikely places, The Philosopher Kings takes us on a journey through the halls of the most elite and prestigious colleges and universities of America by interweaving the untold stories of triumph and tragedy from staff members who have seen it all and have been through it all: the custodians.
This highly acclaimed documentary that follows the lives of custodians around the country is being screened tomorrow night. It is sponsored by WesESL, a student group that provides free English tutoring to Wesleyan custodial workers and other community members.

Pretty sweet! There’s an English as a Second Language program going on right here at Wesleyan that serves the custodial workers who work on campus.
If you’re staying on campus this summer and want to make a difference in the lives of those who make the university run (and meet people outside the Bubble), sign up to teach ESL this summer! You only need to sign up for 2-3 hours a week.
E-mail Katie Hanna ’09 at khanna@wes for more information.
Seriously, this is a sweet program. I’m going to be doing it; you should too!
