  • recycled art exhibition
  • face painting
  • t-shirt stenciling
  • live music

Time: Lunch (11 am-2 pm)
Place: Usdan courtyard

grannyWesWheels Info Session

This Wednesday (Earth Day) at Weswings, there will be a meeting to update everyone on the eco-friendly food truck (weswheels) project. Everyone is invited to ask questions and find out how to get involved in the project. Refreshments will be served.

Time: 4-5 pm
Place: WesWings

Artists wanted for recycled art exhibition

For Earth Day—Wednesday, April 22—EON and the Wesleyan Farmers Market are joining forces to create an Earth Day Extravaganza with music, tables, food, face painting, shirt-making, and more. There will also be an art exhibition made entirely of recycled materials. The idea is that you don’t buy any of the materials and, preferably, you find the materials in places where they would otherwise have gone to waste (such as in the garbage).

If you’re interested, contact Jess Myhre ’09 at jmyhre@wes.

Farmer’s Market Seeks Live Music

The weekly campus Farmer’s Market is great. It would be even better with live music! If you’ve got the musical skills, sign up to play during this semester’s remaining farmer’s markets:

The Farmer’s Market is wonderful but it is even more wonderful when there is background music. We are looking for people who would be interested in performing some sort of acoustic music, whether that be an instrument and/or vocals, solo or with a group.

Ideally people could take turns performing for about an hour or so but the schedule is very flexible and the market only runs from 11am-2pm every other week. Our future Farmer’s Markets will hopefully all be outside if the weather allows and it is a great atmosphere to perform in.

The remainder of Farmer’s Markets for the year will be: March 25th (this week), April 8th, April 22nd, and May 6th. Please contact Tatiana Sabin at tsabin@wes if you are interested in potentially performing. We hope to hear from you!

Today’s Farmer’s Market will be outside for the first time this semester, from 11-2 in the Usdan courtyard. You can get lunch from Bon Appetit with points, and enjoy the sunny 50
degree weather.

Bon Appetit’s menu:

Corn Chowder
Wild Green House Salad (Starlight Gardens)
Grilled Beef Burgers (4 mile river farm)
All Natural Beef Hot Dogs (4 mile river farm)
All Natural Kielbasa (4 mile river farm)
Red Bliss German Potato Salad (Connecticut grown potatoes)

Farmers’ market planning meeting tomorrow

Sarah Jeffrey ’09 writes:

The Farmers’ Market is currently run mostly by seniors. If underclassmen want the market to continue, they should come to our planning meeting to learn how to get involved. There are a variety of roles available, from volunteering at the markets, to working on committees that address community engagement, the website, campus outreach, and vendor relations.

For more information, check out our website or email me at sjeffrey@wes.

Date: Monday, Dec. 1
Time: 8:00 PM
Place: PAC 007

Also, remember you can always go to the Farmers’ Market webpage to figure out when they’ll be coming to campus. The webpage is also linked to under the “Student-Run” sidebar.
