Kecak is a form of traditional Balinese dance and musical, often performed after sunset as a way to narrate the story of Indian epic, Ramayana, thus this performance is also known as Ramayana Monkey Chant. No experience required. No audition. Better yet, you will be sitting for most of the time!

Remember? Dance Showcase? 6 beast ass chicks danced to Joss Stone? You ‘member, ‘member?
Well, luckily we’re gonna have some beast ass auditions to accompany that performance. For those who do not know, Terpsichore Core is a company that puts on a show every semester for any students who want to dance or choreograph, regardless of previous training. The auditions are for others’ pieces, which range anything from tap and contemporary to ballet and hiphop…and always something fun in between. Terp Core auditions will follow the pieces’ auditions.
Meet us THIS SATURDAY @ 2pm in Fayerweather Dance Studio (next to Usdan). Come open minded and ready to move!
Come audition for Martin McDonagh’s hilarious black comedy, A Behanding in Spokane!
After searching the black market for his missing left hand for the past 27 years, Carmichael stumbles upon two drug dealers with a hand to sell. Throw in a bitter hotel clerk, a drug deal gone wrong, and a pile of disembodied hands, and things start to get a little… out of hand.
Directed by Kirby Sokolow ’13
Assistant directed by Mikhail Firer ’13
Presented by Second Stage
No preparation is necessary! Just come prepared to do a cold reading. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Kirby Sokolow ’13 at asokolow[at]wesleyan[dot]edu.
Date: Sept 5 and 6 Time: 7-9 pm Place: Fayerweather 106 (the theater rehearsal room inside Beckham)

We’ll have auditions for Terp Core after general auditions.

If last week’s epic Matisyahu/Chiddy Bang meltdown demonstrated anything, it’s that students on all sides of the debate have been disillusioned with the inner-workings of concert-booking at Wesleyan. This forum offers a constructive venue for discussion and change:
Booked a show at Wes?
Want to book a show here?
Have ideas for how the concert committee process could be better?
Want to discuss by-law amendments?
Just want to complain?
Grab your lunch and come to this meeting on Thursday 4/14 at noon in Fayerweather 106. We will draft amendments to the concert committee’s by-laws (posted on the home page of this Facebook group) to propose to the WSA on Friday and Sunday. The goal is to have a clear and fair process that better corresponds with the realities of Wesleyan’s concert-bookers and music fans.
