Wesleyan Political Union Interest Meeting

political-union-debate-cartoonTess Vartanian ’20 writes in:

The Wesleyan Political Union is a new group on campus dedicated solely to political discourse. While Wesleyan is certainly a very politically active campus, we felt that a space for true bipartisan discourse was sorely lacking. We’re here to create a space for students to discuss ideas and philosophies through parliamentary style debate. If you’re interested, come to our interest meeting to learn more about what we do. Whether you are unsure where you stand politically, want to learn more about current events, or just want to hear an opposing opinion, this is the club for you!

Date: Thursday, October 27
Time: 8:30-9 PM
Place: Fisk 302

Wesleyan Mock Trial Info Session

tom-cruise-a-few-good-menZenzele Price ’18 asks if you’re the next yung hotshot lawyer like this guy to the right:

Want an excuse to suit up and travel around the East Coast this school year? Have you ever wanted to knock a table over while screaming OBJECTION, YOUR HONOR? Do you keep a scrapbook of Hillary Clinton’s pantsuits in your Hope Chest? Do you enjoy acting, writing, attention, judgement, road trips, crippling competition jitters, practicing speeches in the mirror, winning, sometimes not winning, fact patterns, bow ties, arguing, HIGH INTENSITY SITUATIONS, thinking on your feet, being-over-caffeinated and under-prepared, and/or devoting yourself body and soul to the letter of made-up law?

If any of the above applies to you, then come to the mock trial info session THIS SATURDAY! Come for the fictional case, stay for the very real friendships, tournaments, and pantsuits.

Date: Saturday, September 17
Time: 2-3 PM
Place: PAC 001
