Free ‘Selma’ Screening and Discussion

The Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life, with the support of the Center for Community Partnerships, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development, is sponsoring a free showing of Selma, followed by a short talk by Ben Jackson, a veteran of the Selma demonstrations, and a discussion of the film led by members of The Ankh.

The event will be held at 7:45 PM on Monday, February 9 at Metro Movies 12 in downtown Middletown. Tickets are free but required. They are extremely limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis from Sara Wadlow in Allbritton 116 at the following times:
3 PM – 5 PM on Wednesday, 2/4
9 AM – 5 PM on Thursday, 2/5
9 AM – 1 PM on Friday, 2/6
9 AM – 5 PM on Monday, 2/9

Searching for enlightenment but unsure of how to transcend your egoand rediscover yourself as the eternal All? For a step in the right direction, join the folks of BuHo and Professor Kaloyanides for ascreening of Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring. The film,described as “elementally simple and complexly beautiful” and “greatchillout cinema,” will be shown on Monday 4/21 from 4:30 6:30pm in PAC136. Andrea Ballanti invites you to a free screening of Benvenuti al Sud, a formidable Italian comedy.

Alberto Colombo (Claudio Bisio), a civil servant of the Italian Postal Service, has been passed up for promotion to a coveted position in Milan. Following a comical yet ill-fated attempt to secure another such opening, he is assigned to two years postal purgatory in Italy’s southern region. Alberto’s wife Silvia chooses to remain in the civilized north while Alberto is subjected to his penance.
