I’ve noticed on the good ole Facebook that a few of our very own Wes musicians have been releasing some albums. Featured here is their new music and a brief q&a with JDV+:
FXWRK (Coral Foxworth ’15) just put out her debut EP, FXWRK EP. This collection of sound is full of heavy window rattlin’ bass, chilled out atmospheric chords, and unpredictable high hats. She’s played some big shows on campus and has worked with Wes alums like Khalif Diouf ’11 (Le1f), DonChristian Jones ’11, and Evan Okun ’13 (E. Oks). One of the songs is called “Trapsody in Blue,” need I say more?

He released his debut mixtape, The Wayfarer, last month and has received good press from media such as Spin and The Fader. Download it for some laid-back rap. Hopefully we’ll see some D’Angelo-ing up in here, and at the very least, dancing.
This Tokyo-raised ginger will most likely be getting all emotional, deeply feeling every sound he shares with us. Italian Vogue actually used his song “Tokyo Nostalgic” in a video, which is pretty incredible.
You can count on some trap-ish instrumentals that cause your mind to wander off somewhere. She’s not afraid to move her body for you as she gifts you with her music, so please give her the same respect. Thank you.

Continuing a recent Senior Week tradition of sorts, Le1f ’11 will return to Wesleyan this Wednesday for a surprise show at Eclectic. Also performing will be fellow New York based rapper Cakes da Killa, along with alum Cybergiga ’12 (the star of an erstwhile Wesleying header) and current student FXWRK ’14.
