Today’s topic is: Internships!

Some questions you may be having:

  • What internships do I want?
  • What internships can I get?
  • How do I find internships?
  • How do I apply for internships?

I’m going to lay it out for you step-by-step, and in no time, you’ll be an application pro!

SUMMER?! Part One: “What Am I Gonna Do??”

summer

It’s that time of year again: your friends are all starting to announce their plans for the summer. Their paying, professional, real-live adult plans. Meanwhile, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably lying in bed with one hand in a box of cereal and the other aimlessly scrolling through your Twitter feed in hopes that if you ignore the problem of summer plans, it will go away. If you starting to feel the weight of the world (i.e. your parent’s disapproving stares at your choice of major) falling on your shoulders, don’t worry: your friends here at Wesleying are here to help!

WITH Care Benefit Show! [OPEN CALL]

withcareopencall

Leo Enverga ’14 offers another way to help out with relief efforts:

A benefit show is being held after Thanksgiving, bringing together different facets of the Wes performance scene (a capella, dance, bands, cultural performances, etc.), in support of Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts in the Philippines!

Come to today’s meeting at 9PM in Usdan 110 to find out more about the event, to volunteer and to confirm your group’s involvement!

Two ways to help with this event:
–   Volunteer! We’ll need help keeping the event running smoothly, promoting and raising awareness for the typhoon and ways to help during the event, and advertising.
–   Perform! We’re having a variety of performers, so please don’t hesitate to join the show’s program! We’re showing the world that all sides of Wes care.

Thanks for your help!

Date: Today, November 20, 2013

Chloe Jeng ’15  and WESUpport want to help you through the fall and avoid that pesky ACB:

Are you stressed out? Do you need someone to vent to? Do you feel like you can’t tell anyone what you need to get off your chest because everyone has a huge mouth and if you tell them your secrets will be
all over campus in five minutes?

WESupport peers are now holding office hours every weekday on the second floor of Davison Health Center. We’re a confidential peer support program with trained students who are happy to talk to anyone about anything. So if you ever feel overwhelmed, stressed, or just want to chat, stop by! (Bonus: We have free coffee and tea!)

Fall 2013 Office Hours:
Monday 12-2pm Room 1
Tuesday 11am-1pm Room 2
Wednesday 1-2:30pm SART intern office
Thursday 12-2pm Room 3

Our office hours are on a drop-in basis, so no need to make an

Clinic Escort Training Sessions

Wesleyan Clinic Escorts is a group that trains and organizes Wesleyan students to escort patients into a heavily-protested women’s clinic in Bridgeport, CT. Clinic Escorts seeks to provide a respectful and supportive space for women making reproductive health decisions. Clinic Escorting is less a political statement than a functional means of supporting a woman’s right to self-determination and autonomy.

Please come to a mandatory training if you want to participate in clinic escorts this semester! You must attend one meeting to sign up to participate whether or not you have been an escort before.

If you are unable to make one of these meetings or have questions, please e-mail Hillary at hbiggs(at)wesleyan(dot)edu, Chantal at cfergusen(at)wesleyan(dot)edu, or Emily at esteck(at)wesleyan(dot)edu.
