Senior Voices Ceremony

Imam Adeel Zeb, Wesleyan’s Muslim Chaplain, writes in about the annual Senior Voices ceremony:

Dear Seniors,

Please save the date of May 25th 6PM for an integral part of the graduation weekend.

Senior voices is a ceremony in which a faculty member elected by members of the senior class, delivers a short talk addressed directly and specifically to graduating seniors. This year, we are delighted that Professor Elvin Lim has agreed to speak. In addition, three graduating seniors (Glenn Stowell ‘13, Jacob Eichengreen ’13, and Isaiah Sypher ‘13) will share their experiences before ending their Wesleyan career and beginning a new chapter of their lives. They will reflect, share and recap some of their unique and transformative moments from their years at Wes. Olivia May ’13, will be performing as well. Seniors will receive a red rose as a parting gift.

The event will take place in Memorial Chapel and will conclude by 7PM. This event is non-ticketed.

Please share this with friends and families as they will enjoy being part of the celebration as well.”

Date: Saturday, May 25
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Place: Memorial Chapel
Cost: Free

Espwesleying: Free Drinks at Espwesso

espwesso

Good news, coffee snobs fans! Espwesso’s benevolent dictator Jake Eichengreen ’13 tells us that in one last hurrah before break, Espwesso will be running a special promotion this week. Sunday to Wednesday this week between the hours of  9:00 and 10:30 p.m., members of one class will receive any item on the menu for free, starting Sunday night with Freshman and progressing up to seniors Wednesday night.

So, the schedule will be as follows:

  • Sunday: Freshman
  • Monday: Sophomores
  • Tuesday: Juniors
  • Wednesday: Seniors

Remember, kids, this is only between the hours of 9:00 and 10:30. If you don’t frequent Espwesso, you’re missing out on seriously delicious coffee in a seriously cozy spot. Take advantage of this opportunity to get to know the cafe, which is located on the bottom floor of Allbritton.

Espwesso Opening Monday, Hiring Staff

Looks like we left the most important dining option of all out of our dining hours update. Forgive us. Jake Eichengreen ’13 saves the day with a picture of Chuck Norris:

Espwesso’s gonna be firing up the ol’ coffee grinder for the semester starting this coming Monday, 9pm-1am. Barring any unforseen gasmergencies we’ll be open our usual operating days/hours (Sun-Thurs, 9pm-1am) until Spring Break! Also, follow the cafe on Facebook for upcoming events, new coffees, and other cool things and stuff.

Also, to all you younger folks out there (2015 and 2016 folks) we’ll be conducting hiring sometime later this semester! Stay tuned.

Opening Date: Monday, January 28
Time: 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Place: Espwesso

Espwesso to Open Tomorrow; also, Application Deadline on Tuesday

Welcome back, you sexy beasts!

My main man Jacob Eichengreen ’13 and his pitiful attempts at facial hair sends in a notice to inform you fine folks of two things:

  1. Espwesso opens tomorrow, not tonight; and
  2. The deadline for applications to be a bona-fide Espwesso barista/barback are due on Tuesday (4/27)

Check out a reprint of Eichengreen’s call for applications after the jump.

Mmmm… it smells like springtime.

Espwesso Weopening Sunday

Aaand we’re back! Jacob A. Eichengween ’13 pwoudly pwesents:

Just wanted to let you know that due to the heroic efforts of the Wildowski family (of Wildowski farms fame–aka where we get our awesome milk from), we have been restocked and will be reopening this Sunday! Hours of operation this week and for the rest of the semester will be back to normal, 9PM to 1AM Sunday through Thursday!

Let free coffee pour from the sky in volumes greater than the snow of a week ago! (And thanks for donating!)

Thanks a bunch for your help
