The Deans’ Office is looking for talented and motivated students to become Student Academic Resources (SAR) Peer Advisors for the 2014-2015 academic year. SAR Peer Advisors are sophomores, juniors and seniors who work during New Student Orientation (NSO) and throughout the academic year to support Wesleyan’s faculty advising program and enhance student access to academic resources through SAR. Peer Advisors will receive training, give individualized peer advice and facilitate workshops for groups of students regarding time management, public speaking, study and exam preparation strategies.

This innovative, five-week summer pre-k program employs Wesleyan students to teach high-need students who need an extra boost before their kindergarten year. This year, we will have sites working with students going to Macdonough and Farm Hill.

Buttonwood Tree Seeks Wesleyan Band For Paid Opening Set

You heard right — paid.  Elizabeth Halprin ’14 writes in with an opportunity for your talented student band to earn money playing music.  Isn’t that the dream?

The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts & Community Center: in Middletown is looking for an indie rock sorta band to perform on March 1st with Higher Animals. We’d need a 45 – 55 minute set, and the band would get 1/3 of the door profits. Tickets are usually $10, $5 for students.

(Well, you can’t because he’s currently somewhere between Quito and Hartford.) Elisa Cardona—or The Artist Formerly Known as Elisa Del Valle—has got the perfect opportunity for you:

The Orientation Program is seeking four interns to assist with the planning and implementation of the Orientation Program for the incoming Class of 2017 and the new transfer, exchange, & visiting students. Interns plan both International Student Orientation (ISO) and New Student Orientation (NSO) with position responsibilities varying based on specific assignments. As an intern, you will work with professional staff in creating interesting, informative programs and activities for new students.

The internship will be June 3 – September 1, 2013. Compensation is $8.25/hour plus on-campus housing. Interns will work 35 hours/week.
