The Language Bank consists of a database of student volunteers who provide free translation and interpretation services for the Middletown community.

Do you speak multiple languages? Want to get involved in community service? Check out the Wesleyan Language Bank!

The Language Bank is a program run through the Office of Community Service, and offers students the opportunity to connect with the Middletown community by providing free translation and interpretation services.

Whether you are able to read, write, and/or speak in another language, you should join our database of translators. The coordinator will contact you via email when we receive a request from the community. Requests range anywhere from the translation of documents to interpretation of parent-teacher conferences at local schools.

OCS is Hiring: Program Coordinator

The Office of Community Service is hiring a Program Coordinator! Please help spread the word.

The Program Coordinator will manage the Language Bank, which can be found at www.wesleyan.edu/ocs/lbinfo.html, and they will also serve as an Office Assistant at the OCS. Schedule is flexible. Work-study required.

Wesleyan Language Bank seeks translators

Then share your language skills and join the team of volunteers at the Wesleyan Language Bank!


The Language Bank is Office of Community Service initiative that provides translation/interpreting services for the larger Wesleyan and Middletown community. We work with local schools, non-profit organizations, and many others to remove language barriers, increase cross cultural understanding, and build mutually inspiring relationships between communities. It is run by a team of volunteers who share a passion for languages and for helping others.
