Come hear Carmen Mojica and Wesleyan poets demonstrate their talents through spoken word and poetry. Carmen, an author, poet and Doula-in-training from the Bronx, will be sharing works about her Afro-Latina identity, female empowerment, people of the African Diaspora, and more! Carmen Mojica’s first book,” Hija De Mi Madre,’ is a combination of her academic research on the aforementioned interests and her poetry. She also has a second book called, “Odas De La Mujer de Miel”, a book of poetry in Spanish.
Sign-ups for the open mic/poetry jam will begin at 7:45 PM and Carmen will go on around 9:00 PM.
