A message from the Long Lane Farm Collective:
Spring seems to have come early and it’s lovely to spend time outside. Long Lane is a community farm and we want our space to be enjoyed!
We do, however, ask that anyone wishing to use the farm check in with the collective before doing so, because we want to ensure our plants, animals, and visitors are safe and sound. This goes for student groups, but also individuals, any time of day, whether you want to use our space for a social gathering, a project, or just to borrow our equipment. You can get in touch with any member of the collective, or email the farm email (weslonglanefarm[at]gmail[dot]com) with what you’re planning and any ways we can help. We’ll discuss your plans and let you know what we decide and what, if anything, you should know to make sure the farm is well taken care of.
As always, if you want to get involved with the farm, we’d love to see you at a community workday, every Saturday at the farm (the corner of Wadsworth and Long Lane) from 10-2; a weekly meeting every Sunday at 5pm in Boger Hall 110; or you can email us to be added to the listserv! All levels of experience are welcome!

Farm forum is a discussion based class focusing on different methods of farming throughout the world, including here at Wesleyan. Every week, for one class we will read perspectives on farming, and for another class session we will work at Long Lane Farm, the student farm here on campus.
There will be snacks and laughter :)
Date: Thursday, September 8
Place: Boger 110
Attention all seniors!
Have you been meaning to come to the farm since you were a frosh? Is your thesis done and all you want to do is be outside? Are you worried about what you learned at Wes and interested in supplementing all that great theory with some agricultural skill? Do you want to spend your Saturday morning with some cool farmers, ducks and chickens?
It’s not too late! Come to Long Lane this Saturday at 10AM to check a day on the farm off your Wesleyan bucket list! Workdays usually last about 2 hours; the perfect amount of time to get some work in before heading to Zonker.
All class years and levels of experience are welcome, but we especially want to give seniors a chance to experience Long Lane!
A group will be meeting in the Neon Deli Parking Lot at 10 to walk down to the farm together.
Date: Saturday, April 16
Place: Long Lane Farm (corner of Long Lane and Wadsworth) OR Neon Parking Lot (130 Cross St)
Are you still figuring out your summer plans? Do you love vegetables and/or dirt and/or poultry? Have you always dreamt of having your own hands-on agricultural experience? Would you like to be more involved in the Middletown community?
If you missed this last week, never fear! You can still learn all about spending the summer at Long Lane Farm, at one of two interest meetings. If meeting a lovely bunch of farming folk isn’t attraction enough, there will also be (tbd) SNACKS.
Dates: Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11
Time: 8:30PM and 12:30PM, respectively
Place: PAC 421 or Usdan 110, respectively
