First Annual La Boca Taco Eating Contest

Main Street’s La Boca invites you to eat a shitload of tacos next week and possibly win $200:

Hope you’re hungry! La Boca’s First Annual Taco Eating contest! Preliminary on Wednesday, Nov 14th from 7-10 pm. Finals on Friday Nov 16th from 8-9pm. All participants must fill out and submit the sign up sheet to La Boca (find it on the La Boca website here). Sign up sheets are also available at La Boca’s front desk. $200 cash prize for the winner who eats the most!

Professor Smolkin-Rothrock will speak about her research on Soviet “scientific atheism” in the archives of Moscow’s Institute of Marxism-Leninism, the archive of the central organs of the Soviet Communist party.  Come learn about the relationship of archival documents to the lives of their subjects and strategies for filling in the gaps in the official record.
