Would you like to work in the nonprofit world after graduation?
During the 2015-2016 school year, Wesleyan students in the new Nonprofit Board Residency Program will gain special insight into the inner workings of nonprofits by working closely with a local board of directors, that is, the group of elected or appointed volunteers who help govern and guide an organization.
Each student will attend board meetings, actively participate in a committee, and complete an independent project. Participants will also meet on campus for group discussions on the nonprofit sector, Boards of Directors, reflections on their experiences, and more.
Students will receive .25 credits per semester and must be willing to commit to the entire academic year. Applications are due Tuesday, May 12.

Imagine a job that teaches you valuable skills, encourages creativity, and contributes to social good. Now imagine that it’s in a low-cost city (no NYC/LA/Boston rents to pay!) with a supportive group of peers and mentors. This may sound like a dream, but Venture for America makes it a reality, and they’re coming to campus for an info session this Monday!
VFA is a nonprofit organization that matches high-achieving college grads with start-up companies around the country. After a summer intensive training program and two years of exciting, enlightening work, VFA fellows come away with the knowledge and experience to succeed as entrepreneurs and to potentially start their own businesses, thereby contributing to job creation and economic growth.
This is an opportunity for students from all majors (not just Computer Science and other subjects your mom begged you to study), and no prior experience with business is required.
