More about the magazine:

Ostranenie is an archive of Wesleyan students’ creative and critical work. We consider anything capable of 2-D reproduction. Some of those things are:

drawing – essay – poem – cartoon – sculpture – criticism – fragment – diagram – fiction – photo – manifesto – tirade – play – sketch – score and there are so many other things that can be reproduced in 2 dimensions!

This issue is in black and white. We’ll save color submissions for consideration in the spring. We can also convert submissions to black and white upon request. Let us know.

Samizdat Press/Ostranenie Magazine Meeting Tonight

Samizdat Press publishes student work in an attempt

“to reflect the topography of creative culture and the work being made right now. Our goal is to publish work in an arena that supercedes genre.

As editors, our only agenda is to promote abstract culture. We do this by providing a physical document of work to share with each other, lay as a foundation, and synthesize different creative and critical niches so that creative and critical endeavor can evolve.”

If you are interested in becoming a part of Samizdat Press and Ostranenie Magazine, there is an informational meeting tonight at 10:15pm in SCIE 109.

If you can’t come but are interested, send an e-mail over to samizdatpress@gmail.com.
