Film Series ON FOSS: Dazed and Confused

Coming this Friday… an outdoor Film Series experience!

1993. USA. Dir. Richard Linklater. With Jason London. 102 min.

Schooool’s out! Bell-bottom jeans and rock music abound in Linklater’s ‘70s coming-of-age comedy concerning an eclectic group of Texan teens on their last day of school. Pranks are pulled and good times had as incoming freshman desperately try to escape a demoralizing “ass-whooping” and upperclassmen feel the weight of life-changing decisions. Free outdoor screening on Foss Hill, sponsored by the WSA.

FRIDAY (rain date: Sunday) / 8 P.M. / FOSS HILL / FREE

WeSLAM, SAGES and WildWes Present: The Spring Slam

WeSLAM doesn’t want you to miss the supreme, most salad-y slam of the semester:

The Spring Slam. Come celebrate spring. And vegetables. And the earth. And poetry. Live music will be provided by Immanuel Lokwei ’12, Andrew Pfeiffer ’13, and Greg Shaheen ’13!

Oh, there’s a special surprise scoring-method! If you’ve never slammed before, this is the perfect chance. No intimidation: just love, good weather, the earth and hugs from the WeSLAM family.
Laura Lamb Brown-Lavoie is gonna be featuring (she’s super dope; check her out here and here). Lily Myers ’15 and Solomon Billinkoff ’14 are gonna be hosting. Kate Weiner ’15 is gonna talk about the earth. (Hopefully) You’re gonna be slamming.

Wait! There’s more! This is outside! I repeat: outside!

Come through!

Swap Art With Your Peers

Alex Ketchum ’12: “Start thinking of what art you will bring.”

Alex Ketchum ’12 challenges you to an art-off:

On May 6th, there will be an Art Swap! Have you taken art classes and created lots of stuff (paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc) over the year or years and don’t know what to do with it? Rather than throwing it away, bring your art to the Art Swap so that interested students can get some art to decorate their rooms and enjoy over the summer and during the rest of their time at Wesleyan. This event is particularly useful for seniors who are about to move away and have no idea what to
do with that giant nude portrait or series of paintings that they don’t have storage space for. You worked hard on your art. Let the world get to enjoy it! All art will be up for grabs for free. Looking for art? Come on out and snag yourself some awesome stuff from your talented peers! Contact aketchum@wes if you have any questions.

Date: Sunday, May 6
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Place: “TBA (if weather is nice it will be on the grassy area outside of Usdan)”
Cost: “FREE!!!!”
