Econ Peer Advising Hours–Location Change!

It’s Pre-Reg time. Not sure which Econ courses to sign up for?

Stop by the Exley Lobby on Sunday (April 12) anytime between 2-5pm to clear up your concerns before Monday’s Pre-Reg deadline.

You’ll get to talk to older Econ majors who have been where you are, get some quality perspective on courses, and eat some tasty snacks while you chat!

Bring your friends – majors, minors, and non-majors are all welcome!

Patrcielli Center for Social Entrepreneurship Peer Advisor Session

Are there problems you want to tackle in your community and around the world? How do you broaden the impact of your work? Where can you find funding and collaborators?  Chat with the PCSE PEER ADVISORS!

Come for a conversation on the basics of social entrepreneurship, for input on specific projects, or to start brainstorming new programs and products.  Bounce ideas off of your fellow students and learn about the resources that the Patricelli Center has to offer.  Whether you already have a business plan or grant proposal or simply a cause you care about, the Patricelli Advisors look forward to meeting you.

Among other things, Peer Advisors
• Help new students plan their academic schedules and work with their advisors during Orientation week
• Act as a resource during course registration
• Participate in First Year Matters programming
• Direct students to Wesleyan’s full range of academic resources

Peer Advisors Produce “I Just Took a Test” Music Video


With about 24 hours to go before the end-of-theses party begins, a moment many of you have been waiting for has finally arrived. You saw them going all around campus doing… weird stuff. Some of you may have even been coerced into dancing on tables in Exley. It was for a purpose, and here it is.

The Peer Advisors are back. Only this time, they’re in a music video. And with a bit more… sex tests? Enjoy, and stay safe get back to work.

First Year Focus: Pre-Reg and Major Declaration Q&A

We have a message to all the freshmen from your Peer Advisors!

This Tuesday at 7PM (aka tomorrow) in 41 Wyllys (aka “Squash Building” right by Usdan) Room 112, there will be an insightful First Year Focus event where you can ask all of your questions regarding the Pre-Reg process – which started today – and help you start thinking about the major declaration process (never too early!).

Speakers include: Dean of the Class of 2015 Noel Garrett, Professor Robert Lane of the Biology Dept., Professor Andrea Patalano of the Psych Dept, and numerous peer advisors.

Last, but certainly not least: there will be FREE MONDO PIZZA and a raffle where you can win Mondo gift cards!

Apply to be an NSO Peer Advisor!

The Student Academic Resource Center (SARN) is looking for talented and motivated students to become Peer Advisors for New Student Orientation (NSO), 2012!

NSO Peer Advisors are juniors, seniors and exceptional sophomores, who work throughout orientation to support Wesleyan’s faculty advising program, and enhance student access to academic resources through SARN. Basically, you’re helping very confused new students navigate through their first week of Wesleyan life!

Please urge any students who you think may be good candidates to apply, or apply yourself! A job description and application are found on-line here.

Applications, which require a faculty reference form, are due Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Questions should be directed to the Associate Dean for Student Academic Resources, Sarah E. Lazare (x2332, slazare_at_wes).
