West African Drumming & Dance Concert

Come by the CFA for an exciting West African Drumming and Dance concert:

An invigorating performance filled with the rhythms of West Africa. Choreographer Iddi Saaka and Master Drummer Abraham Adzenyah will perform with their students in West African Dance courses.

Southeast Asian Cultural Night

You’re invited to a Southeast Asian Cultural Night:

Join us for a night of local delicacies, performances, expression, and celebration of colorful cultures from 5 Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

We will also be selling traditional souvenirs from our respective countries during ticket sales and on the day of the event. So do bring some cash with you!

Leo Enverga ’14 offers another way to help out with relief efforts:

A benefit show is being held after Thanksgiving, bringing together different facets of the Wes performance scene (a capella, dance, bands, cultural performances, etc.), in support of Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts in the Philippines!

Come to today’s meeting at 9PM in Usdan 110 to find out more about the event, to volunteer and to confirm your group’s involvement!

Two ways to help with this event:
–   Volunteer! We’ll need help keeping the event running smoothly, promoting and raising awareness for the typhoon and ways to help during the event, and advertising.
–   Perform! We’re having a variety of performers, so please don’t hesitate to join the show’s program! We’re showing the world that all sides of Wes care.

Chai-Lun Yueh: Music at Russell House

What a performance Sarah Chrystler ’13 and Russell House have planned for you:

A native of China, Chai-lun Yueh, a private lessons teacher at Wesleyan, has a dramatic, dark, and powerful baritone voice. He has been heard with the National Opera of China in Beijing, Connecticut Opera, Opera Theater of Connecticut, Austin Lyric Opera, Baltimore Opera, and Hawaii Opera. He is also music director for the Connecticut Women’s Chorale. At the Russell House, he will sing 17th- and 18th-century Italian songs and arias accompanied by Sarah Meneely-Kyder on piano.

Toneburst Laptop Ensemble: Final Performance

Wesleyan’s Toneburst Laptop and Electronic Arts Ensemble will play their final show in the World Music Hall on Friday night at 8 pm AND 10 pm. It’s going to be a great show and there’s TWO of them, so make sure to come by Friday night!
