Slammin’ the Butthole: A Night of Spoken Word

From David Stouck ’15 and Penina Kessler ’15:

Slammin’ the Butthole is a student-run non-competitive poetry showcase! There are so many incredible writers, poets, and lyricists on campus that rarely have such an opportunity to perform and receive feedback from their peers. Come out and show some love for your classmates!

If you’d like to participate, sign up here or e-mail dstouck[at]wesleyan[dot]edu or pkessler[at]wesleyan[dot]edu.

Date: Friday, October 5
Time: 7:30 pm
Place: the Butthole: the center of the Butterfield dorms

WeSLAM Poetry Showcase!

From Emily Weitzman ’14:

That’s right. We’re back. WeSLAM is kicking off its second year at Wes with a showcase on the steps outside of Allbritton this Friday night (don’t worry, only from 8 to 9–still plenty of time to get on with your Friday night). Come watch dope poets spit sexy poetry, and find out what WeSLAM is all about. Whether you went to every slam last year, are interested in getting involved, or have no idea what slam is–we want y’all there.

NOTE: This is a showcase. NOT a “slam.” The difference is that there will be no scores at this event. No judges. No bullshit. Only words. And feelings. Come feel with us.

Invite everyone you know (especially freshman)! If you can’t make the showcase but want to get involved with WeSLAM, come to our general interest meeting on Sunday (9/18) at 2:30 in Usdan 110.

  • WHAT?: WeSLAM Poetry Showcase
  • WHEN?: Friday (TOMORROW), 9/16 @ 8-9pm
