Spring Break Hours: Sustenance & More!

so ~springy~ amirite??? (photo courtesy of Bowen He ’21)

Despite what the layers of ice and snow blanketing the campus may signal, it is indeed spring break! Some of you may be jetting (or ride-begging) off into warmer climes, but for those staying in this wintry wasteland on campus, you’ll need sustenance (even if you’re planning on hibernating through long stretches of break).

Lucky for you, we’ve outlined below what’s going to be open and what’s going to be closed and at what times the open things will be open. Just look for the place you want to eat at and then check the hours.  Hint: if the place is not Weshop it probably won’t be open.  If you feel like you need to see this information in chart form you can do so on the websites of each place here: (Bon AppetitWesWings & Red and BlackLibraries).

Wesleyan Bookstore Will Move to Main Street Next Spring

On Wednesday, Michael Roth spoke to a crowd inside 413 Main Street and announced plans to move the Wesleyan Bookstore to that location by next semester. Construction will begin in December and is expected to be completed by next spring.

“We’re committed to strengthening the ties between campus and Main Street,” said Roth. “Relocating Wesleyan’s bookstore is a major step in the direction, and I am so delighted that R.J. Julia Booksellers, with their phenomenal reputation, will be our partner in this effort.”

The announcement follows an initial proposal by Roth to move the bookstore back in April, in an effort to increase Main Street’s potential as a cultural hub for Wesleyan students and faculty as well as Middletown residents. The new 12,000-square-foot space is designed to host more events than the current Broad Street location, and “will improve first impressions for prospective students and families,” according to a Wesleyan Newsletter post following the announcement.

Haven’t figured out what “GOTV” stands for yet? It’s “Generally Overcooked Tiny Vegetables”

“Is one free coffee all that stands between you and voting?” Alyssa Bonneau ’14 asks, clearly expecting you to answer “Hell yeah, yo!”:

Thinking about voting, but still on the fence about it? Sure you’re going to vote but want to feel like more of a champ when you do? This Tuesday come to Red and Black with an “I Voted” sticker and get a FREE small cup of coffee! (sorry to everyone who voted absentee)
Sounds like a great opportunity, if you’re into drinking brown bean juice like a weirdo. Here’s some more supplementary information from Bonneau:
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Actually, I could have: “USA! USA! USA! Don’t forget to check out the deets on the Middletown ballot here.
