Feeling stressed? Drop in for a FREE guided relaxation session!

Guided Relaxation promotes stress reduction, the elimination of tension throughout the body, and a calm and peaceful state of mind. We will use cue-controlled progressive relaxation and deep breathing techniques to release tension and guide participants into a relaxed state.

You can join this guided relaxation session for all or any portion of the hour. Please enter the room quietly as not to disturb anyone and bring a towel or yoga mat if you wish to lie down.

All sessions are in Usdan 110

A Group of Massagers and Massaged – Today (But Also Other Times in the Future)

This was submitted by Dale Glasspiegel ’13, the only Wesleyan student who can truthfully say he’s known me since my age was in the single digits:

Quite simply, Wesleyan students meet up in Fayerweather 106 (the Beckham Hall building) and massage each other.

Just show up at any of the scheduled times. If you can, bring a towel, pillow, yoga mat, and buddy, although none of these are necessary (Clothing probably mandatory).

We will meet 4 times per week until the end of the semester:

Mondays: 7:00-8:00 PM (Except for April 8th)
Wednesdays: 10:00-11:00 PM (Except for April 17th)
Fridays: 8:00-9:00 PM (Except for April 12th)
Sundays: 10:30 AM-12:00 Noon (Every week, No Exceptions!)

Laughing Meditation During Lunch

Jenessa Duncombe ’14 invites you to come laugh cry snort chuckle chortle slap-yo’-knee giggle shriek titter guffaw hee-haw whoop cachinnate cackle roar snicker grin… every Wednesday Lunch in the Mediation Room in the Memorial Chapel from 12:30-12:55 with your friends from Buddhist House.

Experts have noted that Laughing Mediation may cause:

  • smiling
  • warmness
  • a feeling of togetherness
  • lowering of those naughty stress hormones
  • COMPLETE and TOTAL contentment.

Consider yourself warned.

Open Mic in the Westco Cafe

A note from West Co ’67:

Been feeling weird and lonely inside since you haven’t heard any music at Wesleyan since you’ve been back? Depressed because you didn’t get a ticket to the AraabMuzik concert?

At least you can go to Westco’s Open Micthis Wednesday night (read: today). Open Mic happens almost every Wednesday in the WestCo Cafe, and it gives students a chance to perform a song, read poetry, do a dance, play an instrument, or just sit and watch their talented peers do those things.

Signs ups are in the Westco Lounge at 9. Fun starts at 9:30ish in the Westco Cafe. Come perform and bring your friends. It’s a really fun and relaxing time to enjoy the night before the weekend.
