Wescussion First Meeting

Misha VanEaton ’18 wants to talk to you:

Wescussion is a new student group working to create a space to allow non-judgmental, compassionate conversation with the purpose of fully understanding the complexity of universal, social, and individual issues. We’re going to have our first meeting to talk about how this can/should be created and whether spaces like this exist or are necessary on campus.

Contact mvaneaton(at)wesleyan(dot)edu for more information.

Date: Friday 4/3
Time: 2-3 p.m.
Place: Usdan 108

WESupport Support Groups Survey

Claire Wright ’16 asks you to take a survey about support groups:

Want a safe space to talk about different topics? Not sure there is a support group that is right for you? Well now you get a chance to pick what support groups will be available next year at Wesleyan!

WESupport, a student-run group that will provide office hours, support groups, and TAs for CAPS’ WESupport training, is planning out which support groups to run next year. Follow the (one-minute) survey to select support group topics you would like to see at wesleyan or give us an idea for your own.

Here’s the link to the survey.

Safe Space at Womanist House

From Laiya Ackman ’15:44_brainard

As people wake up and open their email from Public Safety alerting them to the attempted sexual assault that took place last night, I would like to reach out to the campus community and invite anyone who feels affected or upset to Womanist House this afternoon. We’ll have tea and snacks and will strive to be a space space for anyone who needs it. Please feel free to drop by at 44 Brainerd Ave (perpendicular to Lawn, parallel to Pine and Home) anytime from 3-5pm today.

We would like to make sure that everyone on this campus can find a safe space and a support group as we reflect on this traumatic event. Our thoughts and support goes out to the survivor.

If you would like to contact me directly, my email is lackman[at]wesleyan[dot]edu.
