In no Batman story is the thinness of the line between him and the Joker more visible than in the Killing Joke. It is in this disturbing, brilliant tale that Batman and the Joker finally meet, not as mere adversaries, but as agents of Order and Chaos.

The Fear Project Auditions!

the fear projectFrom Second Stage:

This semester, we will be devising a piece of theater that explores what fear is. The production will be an exploration of the concept, emotion, and phenomenon of FEAR– and how it varies in different ages, genders, sexualities, classes, etc. We will be telling stories and making theories.

We will be using documentary theatre techniques (most specifically, a variation of Moment work) to create a performance based on inspired ideas that come from interviews, books, songs, and journal entries. The design team will be actively involved in the creation/rehearsals, and the process will be deeply collaborative.

We are looking for a team of creators! Actors, dancers, thinkers, writers, painters, players, movers, inventors, curious humans… Experience is not necessary! Nor is it necessary for you to consider yourself a typical performer! We want a diverse ensemble filled with people who are passionate about exploring and using their bodies and minds as mediums.

Second Stage Presents: REALLY REALLY

11173340_10153241899637930_822008006796799234_nFrom Haley Rauch ’15:

When morning-after gossip turns ugly, self-interest collides with the truth and the resulting storm of ambiguity makes it hard to discern just who’s a victim, who’s a predator, and who’s a Future Leader of America. All that’s certain is when the veneer of loyalty and friendship is stripped back, seven college seniors are left fending for themselves in a vicious jungle of sexual politics, raw ambition, and class warfare.

The New York Times called Paul Downs Colaizzo’s first play “Lord of the Flies with smartphones.” This show is not ticketed, so come early to guarantee seating!
