Thanksgiving Break Shuttles

Turkey Day is on the horizon, and you want to know how to get to there from here, right? The Transportation Committee’s got your back:

The most-anticipated break of this semester is on its way! We here at WSA are going to help you get back home and taste the delicious turducken (if that’s your tradition). The deadline to buy your tickets (for both departure and return) is tomorrow, Saturday November 17th. You can go the Box Office in Usdan or order online.

The buses to New York and to Boston are sold out, though there are a very limited number of seats still available for the return trip. There are also a very limited number of seats left on the bus to Philadelphia and DC. There are still plenty of seats available on the shuttles to and from New Haven and Bradley.

Our shuttles will depart from Usdan and arrive at Bradley International Airport, New Haven Train Station, New York, Boston, DC, and Philly. For both specific schedules and price information please see the schedule below or the attachment to this email.

Shuttles will depart on time, and will not attempt to locate missing passengers. Here is the schedule for the shuttles:

Shuttl-U-Stuff to Stor-U-Self

Even final exams offer no respite from that guy Evan Weber ’13 doing nice things for you all the time. This has got to stop. More from Lil’ Webbie:

Dear students,

This year the WSA’s Transportation Committee has partnered with Stor-U-Self Storage – Portland to offer shuttle services so that students without their own transportation can easily have a home for their belongings over the summer (and while abroad).

Stor-U-Self will provide a $15 shuttle service for your belongings from 10am-6pm on the 17th and 18th (Thursday and Friday) and potentially also offer services on Saturday if there is strong demand. They will also offer this service in the Fall (or Spring) when you return to campus.

Wesleying Unofficial Orientation Series: Getting There From Here

Another mostly repost, regarding how to get home (or not, as the case may be) while livin’ the carless life at Wes. Arguably more important than any of this, however, is the rideboard, which you can access from your ePortfolio and from which you can offer and seek rides to helpful places, like the airport or chipotle. You can also solicit rides on the ACB, which you are just going to have to find yourself.

As any current Wes student will tell you, one area in which Middletown is seriously lacking is its ability to help you get out of Middletown. The closest train station is in Meriden, though your best bet for getting out of town is to go to Union Station in New Haven or Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. Getting there, though, is quite the challenge, which is why we at Wesleying, with help from our friends at the Peer Advisor Blog, have attempted to compile a list of the car-less ways to get to Connecticut’s two main transportation hubs.

Shout-out in the comments with additions and corrections.

Spring Break Shuttle: Wednesday Last Day to Buy Tickets

Tomorrow, Wednesday March 3, is the last day to buy tickets for spring break shuttles to New Haven, New York City, Boston, and Bradley Airport. All tickets for trips from and back to Wesleyan must be purchased in advance at the box office in Usdan.

For complete information regarding shuttle schedules and destinations, check out this post from February 10.

Update, 6:46: Also, don’t forget to check the Rideboard. You can find it under the “Student Life at Wesleyan” section in your ePortfolio. On the Rideboard you can find rides offered by other students, request a ride, or offer rides yourself. [Thanks Miriam!]
