Register for the 7th Annual Social Justice Leadership Conference

The Social Justice Leadership Conference (SJLC) is a collaborative effort which provides a space for students, student groups, community members, alumni, faculty, and staff to discuss social justice and to learn and refine leadership skills. SJLC seeks to empower its participants to create change by applying the skills and knowledge acquired during the conference.

Students, student groups, alumni, community members, faculty and staff facilitate sessions in their area of interest or expertise. Sessions focus on leadership skills that may be applied to any social movement and on the many manifestations of injustice and how participants can be involved in creating change.  SJLC provides participants with resources and opportunities for engagement on campus, in Middletown, in Connecticut and across the globe.

The link for students/groups/faculty to submit applications to be a presenter at the 7th annual Social Justice Leadership Conference (SJLC) is now live! The Social Justice Leadership Conference (SJLC) is a collaborative effort which provides a space for students, student groups, community members, alumni, faculty, and staff to discuss social justice and to learn and refine leadership skills. SJLC seeks to empower its participants to create change by applying the skills and knowledge acquired during the conference.

You are invited to be a part of the 6th Annual Social Justice Leadership Conference. The mission of The Social Justice Leadership Conference (SJLC) is a collaborative effort which provides a space for students, student groups, community members, alumni, faculty, and staff to discuss social justice and to learn and refine leadership skills. SJLC seeks to empower its participants to create change by applying the skills and knowledge acquired during the conference.

A key part of the SJLC are the breakout sessions, where students, student groups, alumni, community members, faculty and staff facilitate sessions in their area of interest, expertise, or passion. Sessions focus on leadership skills that may be applied to any social movement and on the many manifestations of injustice and how participants can be involved in creating change. To view past conference sessions click HERE. SJLC provides participants with resources and opportunities for engagement on campus, in Middletown, in Connecticut and across the globe.

This year’s conference theme is Access, Equity, and Inclusion and will be held on Saturday, October 26th. We encourage you to submit a session proposal and to be part of this amazing day! Fourth Annual Social Justice Leadership Conference Seeks Session Proposals

Calling all staff, students, faculty, and community members, SJLC wants you! The Social Justice Leadership Conference (SJLC) is an annual event, hosted by members of the Wesleyan University community, that aims to promote social justice issues and solutions that effect people every day. This year, the conference will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The theme for this year is: Got Social Justice? Individuals or groups that have session ideas that relate to this theme are encouraged to submit this session proposal form. Each session should be no more than 45 minutes long.

The deadline to submit session proposals will be Monday, April 2, 2012 at 4pm. Session proposal applicants will be notified of their acceptance to participate in the conference no later than Friday, April 6, 2012.

Social Justice Leadership Conference Speaker Proposals

Morning, y’all. Anyone else afearin’ a particular kind o’ frost may be creepin’ its way into yer bones? No? Pardon me then, y’all, just askin’. No harm done. On and ever onward:

Are you or your student group interested in presenting at this year’s Social Justice Leadership Conference on Saturday, January 22nd 2011? This one-day conference provides a space for students, community members, alumni, faculty, and staff to discuss social justice and to learn and refine leadership skills. The conference will be focusing on education in honor of our keynote speaker, Geoffrey Canada of the Harlem Children’s Zone, but will also feature sessions on leadership skills and a variety of social justice topics.

We are looking for students or groups who are interested in leading 50-75 minute long discussions, workshops, or lectures on any of these related topics.
