Goodnight, Texas – Earth House 10:30PM

Here’s a submission in R2 from x-well y-mann (20,13):

Like Music?  Didn’t think so.

We’re going to be serving something even better @ Earth House!

Get pumped – Thursday night will be rocking.  Headlined by Goodnight, Texas – the brainchild of WesAlum Patrick Dyer Wolf ’07 (of Chapel Hill, NC).

The band self-describes on facebook: “A transcontinental garage appalachian collaboration of San Francisco’s Avi Vinocur (formerly of The Stone Foxes) and North Carolina’s Patrick Dyer Wolf. Previously known as P. Wolf and Avi, both songwriters are old souls in modern bodies: the duo pays as much homage to 19th and early 20th century folk, and blues, as to The Tallest Man on Earth, Ryan Adams, and The Fleet Foxes. Their pre-debut LP Coattails (2010) is a stripped-down and earthen set, in turn raucous and sparse. Since the album’s release, the lads have been touring both coasts and appeared in Austin during 2011’s South by Southwest music festival. ”

Forget about those cloudy nothings and futuristic islands – GN, TX might just be the next big thing in Appalachian Garage music!! Trust us, you don’t want to miss their acoustic set.
