Dharma Talk with Ji Hyang Padma

Lamenting the fact that you didn’t make it over to Buddhist House for a meditation this semester? It’s not too late!

Come to BuHo on Thursday Nov 21st for a meditation and dharma talk with Ji Hyang Padma! Ji Hyang Padma is the Buddhist chaplain at Wellesley College. She has done intensive Zen training and teaching in Asia and North America for 20 years. She also teaches Zen workshops annually at Omega Institute and Esalen Institute and served as Director and Abbot of Cambridge Zen Center, one of the largest Zen Centers in the country. She is gifted at finding an entry-point into practice for people who are just beginning their journey. On Nov 21st, teachings will be drawn from Ji Hyang’s newly released book– Living the Season: Zen Practices for Transformative Times–which combines Zen practice with creative approaches that support the discovery of positive outcomes in everyday life.

Feeling stressed, looking for spirituality? Here is a solution for you:

During this 6-week non-credit course, students will be introduced to various techniques of mindfulness practice and spiritual awareness, including sitting meditation and yoga. These modalities are designed to aid in stress and anxiety reduction, and when practiced diligently, may also offer opportunities for greater self-awareness and personal development. The goal is to give students a spiritual toolbox that is portable, replicable, and sustainable. Students will gain an understanding of the roles these practices can play in leading a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life.

The first class is on Monday 1/28/2013 and goes from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Information and application here.

ReTribe Spiritual Retreat Info Session

Don’t know what to do during your loooong winter break? Come join other young adults at Retribe’s Rite of Passage Retreat this Jan 2-7. It will be a week of transformations, including workshops in Trance Dance, Breathwork, Mindfulness, Yoga, Nature Immersion, Drumming, Art etc.
