President of the Eclectic Society and occasional curator, Shinekwa Kershaw ’15, brings all campus artists this important message:
Calling all artists! The organizers of Chana are looking for pieces of artwork to showcase during the event.
For those unfamiliar with the event (have you been living under a rock?), Chana is a dance party extravaganza, with one room designated as the Asian nightclub experience, and a separate room with a calmer atmosphere. The latter room is an inviting, relaxed space heavily focused on ambiance.
The Eclectic Society, in collaboration with several representatives of the Asian and South Asian communities on campus, welcome artists to submit artwork to be displayed. These pieces of art will contribute to the aesthetic of the space, and any form can be contributed: photography, sculptures, drawings, paintings, etc. We strongly encourage the work to depict Asian culture, whether it be an urban nightclub experience, or sumi-e paintings of natural landscapes.
The first 5 artists who submit 2 or more works which suit the vibe will receive a free ticket to the event.
As noted in the poster, if you have any questions or are interested in submitting artwork, email Shinekwa at skershaw(at)wesleyan(dot)edu.
