It all started with an obsession. A dream, really. To host a concert to rival the days when Hendrix played Woodstock, when the Beatles played the Ed Sullivan show and captured America’s hearts, or when 200,000 people made the Monterey Pop Festival the original rock music festival. Wesleyan has been searching for such a show ever since the Grateful Dead played Foss hill (for purportedly nothing more than some good acid).
Ladies and Gentlemen, the wait is over.
Led by front-man Eamon Cronin, who has been described as a dead ringer in both sound and looks for the late Jim Morrison (if you don’t believe me, check out the event photo. That isn’t Jim Morrison, despite what your eyes might be telling you), Riders On the Storm are the only band in the world who are allowed to be billed as “The Doors,” thanks to permission from the remaining members of the original Doors. They are just that good.
