Red & Black Society Info. Sessions

25r1i78

An invitation from Brian H. Lee ’13:

Need a job? Want the (potentially) highest paying job on campus? Come to an Info Session for the Red & Black Society! Red & Black Student Ambassadors connect alumni and parents with the University and solicit gifts on behalf of the Wesleyan Fund. Red and Black ambassadors are often the only contact alumni have with the school during the year. As such, it is a unique opportunity to bond with Wesleyan grads, young and old, and for them to connect with you.
This position allows students the opportunity to polish communication skills, post a coveted and marketable position on their resumes, and earn a recommendation from Wesleyan’s University Relations department. Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to be invited to special events on and off campus with trustees and prominent alumni.
Information sessions will be in PAC 001 on Monday, September 8 at 1:00 PM and Tuesday, September 9 at 6:00 PM.
Come with your resume if you’re ready to apply!

Dates: Monday, September 8th and Tuesday, September 9th
Times: 1:00pm on Monday and 6:00pm on Tuesday
Place: PAC 001

For Seni0rz 0nlee LOL: Senior Barbeque

Auuuuuuugh... better bring some sunscreen maaaaaan

Non-seniors, this is the kind of event you can look forward to having later on. No word on what happens if you self-identify as a senior. From Ross Wells Gormley ’13:

This Saturday afternoon, come hang out in the backyards of Fountain/Pine with your fellow classmates for a welcome back SENIORS ONLY event!

Bring your blankets, frisbees, drinks/ID’s (Wesleyan and state-issued), and enjoy some tasty fare including grilled chicken, vegan dishes, and salads. There will also be performances by Smokin’ Lillies, IGBEE aka Bruce Durley, and Bones Complex.

A senior pass (a pass to Senior Cocktails, formal and semi-formal, and other outings) will be raffled along with a foosball table, Wes apparel, and gift certificates to local eateries. Tickets cost $1 each and a portion of the proceeds will go towards our Senior Gift.

Twitter-Stalk Alumni Like Never Before

These are all publicly available tweets.Ever wanted to stalk a Wes alum?  Ever wanted to stalk all Wes alums?  The latest project from University Relations now makes that easier than ever.  You may have heard about WesConnect (posters, business cards, homepage link, blog posts…), but did you know it has a Twitter account?  @wesconnected not only curates updates from Wes alums, but has created a list for them.  Going through the list you can find classic alumni gems like Carter Bays, Das Racist, Marjora Carter, and Matt Lesser in addition to plenty of people you may never have heard of.  Journalists, entertainers, writers, politicians, and those Brooklynites that were Paul Farmer’s punchline are all there.

Twitter is inherently stalkerish, so you can follow the tweets of the entire group at once.  Top-left is a visual of what Wes alums have to share with the world.  So far, only @WesCFA has taken on the momentous task of following the whole list.  I applaud them.
