And now, for a post that definitely wasn’t written by any Wesleying blogger I’ve ever heard of:
Wesleyan’s humor a cappella group, Waiting in Line, is coming at you with an Samuel Beckett themed concert in that glass building between the Chapel and the ’92 Theater. We hear it’ll include both singing AND humor at the same time.
Waiting in Line for Godot ( /???do?/ god-oh) is an absurdist a cappella concert by Waiting in Line, in which twelve characters wait endlessly and in vain for the arrival of someone named Godot. Godot’s absence, as well as numerous other aspects of the concert, have led to many different interpretations since the concert’s premiere. It was voted “the most significant English language a cappella concert of the 20th century”.
Come see our senior Carolyn Mortell ’12 and her merry band sing some hilarious songs for a while instead of studying, or concurrently with drinking.

“Audition for Waiting in Line”? There’s no way that could be difficult, right? Oh, who are we kidding. Waiting in line is torture. Also, I’m sorry for deceiving you and should now reveal that this post is actually another a capella audition post and not something entirely different. I’ll just hand the mic to Waka Flocka Feinstein ’13 (or Will ’14, if you think he told the truth in the Chapel last week):
Ross Shenker ’11 writes:
Come out and audition for “Waiting In Line” the most scrum-diddly-umptious of the groups you saw at Usdan. We are looking for all voice types/funny energetic people who do not take themselves too seriously! Bring a song to sing and an embarrassing story about yourself. Extra points for tastelessness.
Date: Monday September 6th and Tuesday September 7th
Time: 5:00PM – 7:00PM
Location: Fayerweather 106 (Theater Rehearsal Room on the first floor of that red castle-like building next to Usdan).
Ross Shenker ’11 writes:
Come see Waiting In Line do what they do best, sing you lullabies of ridiculousness! We can’t promise we won’t offend ALL of you, but we promise we won’t offend SOME of you. Featuring Rachel Carpman ’10, Mike Sandwick ’11, Nic Wilder ’11, Ross Shenker ’11, Carolyn Mortell ’12, John Gallagher ’12, Ala Faller ’12, Christine Treuhold ’13, Jake Blumenthal ’13, Hannah Vogel ’13, and Ginah Kim ’13.
Date: Sunday, December 13
Time: 7:30 pm
Place: ’92 Theater
Zach edit: And Will Feinstein ’13. Sorry, Will!
